Flamingo

Hi Everyone,

It's Karin posting today here at the blog, and I used this funny Flamingo digi from the I Brake for Digis shop on my birthday card today.  He seemed to look a bit grouchy, so I paired it with a sentiment from my own supplies.  I love doing that with my digis, you get so much mileage out of your supplies by using them this way.

Be sure to visit the I Brake for Digis shop for tons of different digital images!

Picking Up the Tree

Good morning - Barb here - Mr. Mo Jo finally paid me a visit this week and I made my second Christmas card of the year. I think I can see more of these in my future.

I used one of the new digi images for this card and paper pieced it. I printed it on three different patterned paper and cut out the car and tree and glued them to the base image. I did color the tires and window on the car with Copics and rubbed some blue chalk across the car to make it bluer. I rubbed brown chalk on the tree to add some depth to the green.

I have a pad of paper from Die Cuts With a View and love the vintage feel of this paper.

I do hope Mr. Mo Jo comes to visit this week end - I have birthday cards needed for Monday and Tuesday. Everyone have a wonderful week end.

An ATC in hot water

Hi! Lisa here, with an ATC to show you. I'm a regular ATC trader, and I love making these little works of art. With this ATC I was intending to make a teacup and teapot ATC for a swap my friend is hosting, however, as ever, artistic things take on a mind of their own.......

The teabag digi is fabulous, perfect for rubber stamping over with a woman's face. There's no rule that says digis and rubber stamps can't mix, right?

The quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt, and the background is just swooshed with ink pads and then stencilled through a flower stencil.

For a few more details on how I made it, hop over to my blog.

Age is Only a Number

Hi All,

It's me Karin, posting a card I made for my cousin's birthday.  He used to have an orange motorcycle before he traded it in for a black one, so I made this card with that bike in mind.  It's much more fun to color in orange than in black...lol.

I used one of the cute Freddie stamps (Freddie on a Harley) from I Brake for Digis and paired it with a traditional stamped sentiment from my supplies.  I added some twine, because that always seems good and guy-ish...

and I glued on some googly eyes just because they are so fun :)

Be sure to check out all the stamps at the I Brake for Digis store...I know you will like what you see!

Fish Wishes

Hi everyone.  Wanted to show you a card I made with the fish image from I Brake For Digis.  I love this adorable fish.  I'm sending this out to my friends grandson who I just love so much.  He had the chance to go to Disney this weekend for his birthday and they send me photos of him at Sea World so I thought a fish would be appropriate this year for his card.

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday.

Hugs~

Brakefast Club Challenge #15 - Bare or Bear

Hi everyone!  Its me, Cat, back to show you the card I made for the Brakefast Club challenge for this week. The challenge is to make something that either uses a bear or is bare - as in clean & simple.  Well, I didn't think I could pull of bare this week, so I chose to use a bear.  Here's my card:

Supplies:
Stamps: Buzzing Bee Bear (I Brake For Digis)
Papers: Wausau Exact Index 110#, Recollections cardstock, Gratitude papers/digital scrapbooking kit (Summertime Designs), matte finish brochure paper (Staples)
Tools & Embellishments: Waterfall & gold Stickles, home made flowers, CraftRobo, Copic markers, black sharpie marker, Scalloped Scallop edge punch (EK Success), Baby Kruffy font, small flower punch (Fiskars), small daisy punch (Fiskars)

This little bear image is so cute and makes me want spring to hurry up and get here (as the temperature here in Calgary drops down to -27C tonight - burrrrrr!!!).  You can get him in the I Brake For Digi Shop along with a whole bunch of other cute digi stamps.  Remember to stop by my blog for the details on how I made the card and to also pick up your 10% off code to go shopping in the IBFD shop.

Have a great weekend and we'll talk to you soon...

Sweet little cupcakes!

Hi there! It's Lisa here today to share a sweet card made with two of the cupcakes range of digis stamps available at I Brake For Digis.

There are several different cupcakes in the collection, here I've used the Star cupcake and the Banner cupcake. As I didn't make this card with anyone particular in mind- it's for my little stock of cards- I've left the banner blank so that I can add a name later on.

For more details about how I made this card, check out my blog!

Take Your Medicine

Good evening - Barb here - wanted to share a Freddie card with you. As you can see Freddie has his tongue stuck out and Freddie needs to learn to take his medicine. So therefore, Freddie has a low dosage aspirin on his tongue - he must have issues with his blood and needs to thin it out.

Have you checked out all the cute Freddie digi images? How about Freddie riding a motorcycle. Freddie Rocks Out - Freddie has so much potential - you must check him out.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi and Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

It's Karin posting today, and I decided that I would use this cute image of filled Jars from I Brake for Digis for my card.  A little on the nontraditional side, but the one jar is filled with those cute hearts, so I thought, "Why not"?  I used these papers from Cosmo Cricket, some plaid ribbon and twine because they all looked kitchen-y to me ;)

Have you made your sweetheart a card?  Stop by the I Brake for Digis store and get what you need to make that special some one's day!

Is it Spring Yet?

Is it spring yet?  It's a beautiful day here in Georgia so I just had to make a card featuring this adorable frog on his lily pad.  It just feels like spring to me.  Plus I get to work on using my Copic markers on this little cutie.  He's just so adorable to me.

I hope you've had a wonderful Sunday and you are feeling some warm spring like days where you are.

A wise old owl

Hello! It's Lisa posting today with an ATC to show you.

I used the fabulous Owl digi and resized it to ATC size (2.5 x3.5 inches). I coloured it with my coloured pencils and used Sansodor to blend them. It was my first attempt at using Sansodor and I was really pleased with the results. It's magical when it just blends the pencil colours, effortlessly!!!!

I've already promised this wise owl as a swap with a very good friend of mine, but I'll be getting my pencils out again soon!!!!

I'll Be Home For Christmas

Brrr - cold greeting from Barb in Wisconsin. As a farm girl who likes black and white cows - yes they are called Holsteins - I love this new digital image at I Brake For Digis. It is called I'll Be Home for Christmas. I knew it would be a great image for Operation Write Home - just a small amount of coloring to make the image complete and some great paper. I have 5 more cards prepped and I know I will reuse this digi for more holiday cards for our service people.

The paper I used is a pad of Basic Grey I bought several years ago at Michael's.

Everyone have a wonderful evening and stay warm.

Get Well

Hi Everyone,

It's Karin posting today, and I'm showing you a card that I made for my uncle.  I knew this Bed from I Brake For Digis would make the perfect image for a get well card.  I used some K & Company papers that looked like fabric and paper pieced the bed linens.  I added a stamped sentiment, a bit of Tim Holtz paper tape and pierced the paper along the bottom. I know it's not fussy, but I don't think men like fussy cards :)

Well, short and sweet from me today, busy week ahead!  Be sure to visit the I Brake For Digis Store to see all of the great images offered!

Hot Mama

Hi everyone.  Thought I would use my chili peppers image today in honor of some fiery wings I'm making for the big game.  I loved coloring this peppers.  They look so juicy and hot!!  LOL

If you're a football fan, I hope you have a chance to dive into some wings today for the game. There just can't be a football game without wings!!

Have a great day everyone.

The BrakeFast Club Challenge #13 - Bookmarks

Hi again everyone!  I have a little project that I created for the challenge just finishing up over at the BrakeFast Club (a new one starts tomorrow).  Chrissy created an excellent tutorial on how to make these corner bookmarks and she has it posted on her blog.  Its so easy to follow that it hardly takes any time at all to make these.  And what I really like about this project - it uses up some of my scraps.  I'm all about using scraps.  They seem to procreate when they're in my cabinet and I end up with more and more each day. :)  Here's a picture of my bookmark (on a book of course):

Supplies:
Stamps: Purse (I Brake for Digis)
Papers: patterned paper (I think its Daisy D, but I got it at the Dollar Store), Recollections cardstock (pink & red), Wausau Exact Index 110# (white cardstock), glitter cardstock (unknown - ordered it a couple years ago from a lady in the UK), paper flowers (Prima), brad (Recollections), rhinestone (Michaels), Wrought Iron corner punch (EK Success), Tulips deep edge punch (EK Success), Butterfly trio punch (Martha Stewart), copic markers

The image used on the bookmark is the Purse image (which you can purchase here).  I think it fits perfectly with the colour scheme I chose for this project.  For some reason, I always make bookmarks with feminine colours.  I know I'll be making more, so I should probably try it with more masculine colours.  Oh well.

You should try making a couple of these.  They're quick & easy.  I have the full details on how the different elements were created on my blog.  Also, don't forget to stop by my blog to get your 10% discount code before you go shopping for this image or any of the other fabulous digis in the store.

Take care...

Want a pizza the action?

Lisa here with a birthday card for a man for you today. Instead of birthday cake, I've substituted this fab pizza slice digi from I Brake For Digis

The image is Promarkered, then some simple layering up for a quick and easy card. I drew the candle myself and then cut it out. I really struggle for men's cards sometimes, especially if they're not into a particular sport or young enough to have a cutie kids' card. Everyone loves pizza though!

Daisy Happiness

Barb here - it is snowing in Wisconsin, it is going to be a blizzard, so I made a fun, bright card to break us away from the monotony of SNOW WHITE.

I used the digi - Daisy With Bee - bees are very special in my family - we have 4 generations of amazing women with the middle name of Bea.

I used part of the image - I just wanted to focus on the flower head - not an entire plant - so used my Spellbinder to cut out the part of the digi I wanted to use.

I hope you enjoy this spot of sunshine in a very bothersome weather day in Wisconsin.
